Brewster Academy: WolfeboroBrewster Academy’s history is one of growth and innovation. At Brewster, education is a dynamic process constantly evolving to meet the needs of today’s students while also preparing them to thrive in and contribute to tomorrow’s world. Nestled on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Brewster Academy was founded in 1820 and has been providing a world class education for over 200 years. The Brewster campus is a stunning inspiration with abundant green spaces and quintessential New England buildings offering picturesque views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The campus invites an expansive view of life and possibility as it draws the diverse Brewster community together.
Brewster MadridBrewster Madrid opened its doors to students in September of 2023 as the first school of a growing network of Brewster international schools. The school will capitalize on the rich history and culture of innovation of Brewster Academy while providing students in grades K–12 with a modern, innovative, and rigorous educational experience.
The Team ApproachThe Team Approach to education is the cornerstone of the Brewster Model and a critical means by which teachers come to know and fully understand the students in their care. The team fosters sustained collaboration among teachers, enabling them to craft the most effective approach to maximize student learning. As not all students learn alike, the team is the central hub by which we ensure that all types of thinkers are valued, understood, and prepared to develop and activate their full potential.
To achieve this goal of comprehensive development and actualization of each individual student, advisors take part in ongoing conversations with their teams to ensure that every student receives an individualized approach to education, an approach by which they can discover their true potential, activate their passions, and make meaningful contributions to the community.

A team-based approach:
At all grades of Brewster Madrid, teachers work collaboratively to understand and support their students. The team fosters sustained collaboration among teachers, enabling them to craft the most effective approach to maximize student learning. This approach recognizes that students have diverse learning styles and ensures that all types of thinkers are valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
A Strong Advisory System:
Each student has an advisor who is charged with knowing his or her advisee deeply, understanding the particular ways their advisee needs to challenge and support change through time and facilitating changes in their advisee’s program as needed.
Partnership With Parents:
Advisors will be in regular communication with parents, who we know are our greatest allies in serving the needs of our students. As advisors recognize challenges and opportunities for growth, advisors will communicate with parents about potential changes, ask for feedback, and ensure that school and parents are working together to help children grow into great adults. Parents, in turn, know that the advisor is a trusted and skilled educator to whom parents can always reach out to share perspectives and shape the experience of their child.

Roots of Belonging at BrewsterFrom its inception, Brewster has emphasized that a diverse learning environment is part of a quality education. In 1887, John Brewster’s estate established Brewster Free Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire under the condition that “No restriction shall be placed upon any person desiring to attend and receive instruction from said school or academy on account of his or her age, sex, or color, provided only he or she is of good moral character.” Today, as Brewster fulfills its mission to “prepare diverse thinkers for lives of purpose,” we continue that early vision.
