Our IBDP is designed for students seeking a challenging, both nationally and internationally respected program that prepares them for renowned universities from all around the world.
Course Structure:
- The IBDP is a two-year academic program.
- Students take six subjects, from each of the following groups:
- At least one subject must be chosen from Groups 1, 3, 4,
and 5. - Students may choose a subject from Group 2 or an
additional subject from Group 1. - Students may choose their sixth subject from Group 6 or another subject from Groups 1–4.
- At least one subject must be chosen from Groups 1, 3, 4,
Subject Levels
- Three subjects must be taken each at Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL).
- Students should plan for approximately 15–20 hours of
independent study per week.
Assessment Overview
- All IB subjects are assessed both externally and internally.
Final external examinations take place over three weeks in May of the second year. - Assessment breakdown:
- HL subjects: 80% external assessment, 20% internal assessment
- SL subjects: 70% external assessment, 30% internal assessment
- Exceptions:
- Language B and Language Ab-Initio: 75% external
assessment, 25% internal assessment. - Mathematics AI (SL): 80% external, 20% internal assessment.
- Visual Arts: 60% external (although Visual Arts has no written exam), 40% internal.
- Language B and Language Ab-Initio: 75% external
Core Requirements
- In addition to the six subjects, all students complete the IB Core, which includes:
- Theory of Knowledge (TOK): A course exploring how knowledge is constructed across disciplines.
- Extended Essay (EE): A 4,000-word independent research paper
- Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS): A student-led experiential learning programme.
